At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple introduced a revamped MacBook Air with a fresh design and upgraded hardware. The iconic tapered edges are gone, replaced by a more consistent, uniform shape. However, the sleek aluminum body remains a key feature. The new MacBook Air is just 11.3 mm thick and weighs 1.2 kg. It comes in four color options: Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Grey.

The redesigned MacBook Air includes a chiclet keyboard with full-height function keys, offering ample spacing for comfortable typing. A fingerprint sensor is built into the power button, allowing users to quickly unlock the device, access password-protected files, and confirm purchases. Additionally, the trackpad has been enlarged for better usability.

The laptop features a 13.6-inch IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCD with LED backlighting, offering a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels at 224 ppi. With a peak brightness of 500 nits, the display delivers crisp visuals. A notch at the top accommodates a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. The MacBook Air also includes four built-in speakers, supporting Spatial Audio when paired with 3rd-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, or AirPods Max.

In terms of connectivity, the MacBook Air offers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, two Thunderbolt (USB 4) ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and MagSafe 3 for charging. It houses a 52.6-watt-hour lithium polymer battery, which Apple claims provides up to 18 hours of video playback on a single charge.

Powered by the latest macOS Monterey, the MacBook Air delivers enhanced performance with the M2 chip. Apple’s product listing reveals that the base model, featuring an 8-core GPU and 256GB SSD, will be priced at ₹119,900 in India. For those looking for more power, a 10-core GPU version with 512GB SSD storage will be available for ₹149,900. Both models are expected to be available in India next month.
